#MYHERITAGE SUBTHEME FOR PHOTO AND SHORT VIDEO CONTEST IN CONJUNCTION WITH #SAYANGMALAYSIA SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE MALAYSIA

PUTRAJAYA, 25 April 2018 - The Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) continues organising a photography and short video contest on social media with the sub- theme #MyHeritage starting from 1 May to 30 June 2018.

To enter, participants need to upload a creative photo or short video related to the uniqueness and diversity of Malaysian heritage which encompasses aspects of art, culture, food, lifestyle and so on through social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

For the short video competition, participants need to upload a 30 - to 60-second short video on social media with hashtags #SayangMalaysia and #MyHeritage.

This contest offers various attractive prizes for the top three winners and five consolation prizes. Among the gifts available are tickets and free vouchers at selected popular destinations within the country as well as exclusive gifts sponsored by Farm In The City, Melaka Alive, Skytrex Adventure, KL Hop On Hop Off, Les Copaque, Kraftangan Malaysia, KL Tower, Melaka Wonderland, Zoo Negara dan Aquaria KLCC.

This contest is organised in conjunction with the #SayangMalaysia Social Media Campaign by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia in line with its effort to make Malaysia a top tourism and cultural destination and to encourage both domestic and international tourists to use social media platforms to share all their beautiful and unique holiday experiences while in Malaysia.

During this #SayangMalaysia Social Media Campaign, public have the opportunity to participate in six (6) photo and short video competitions throughout 2018 by introducing three (3) new subthemes, #MyShopping for July to August, #VM2020 from September to October, and #MyKampung for November until December. Here are the subthemes for each contest:

i. #MyCuisine - January to February
ii. #MyDestination - March to April
iii. #MyHeritage - May to June
iv. #MyShopping - July to August
v. #VM2020 - September to October
vi. #MyKampung - November to December
