National ASEAN Tourism Awards 2023

12 June 2023 - The National Level ASEAN Tourism Standard Awards Ceremony 2023-2025, held on June 12, 2023, in Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA, honoured ASEAN Tourism Standard Awards at the regional level for a total of eighteen tourism businesses and stakeholders at the ASEAN level and twelve tourism businesses and stakeholders at the national level. The event was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, YB Tuan Khairul Firdaus bin Akbar Khan who represented YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

The ASEAN Tourism Standard serves as a standard for all ASEAN member countries and regional tourism industry players in providing high-quality and excellent service delivery to tourists, with the goal of making ASEAN a world-class destination in accordance with the ASEAN Strategic Tourism Plan 2016-2025.

Eighteen tourism businesses and stakeholders in the region with the highest evaluation standard received the award which was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 5 February 2023, during the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023. The Ministry organised the National Level ASEAN Tourism Standard Awards Ceremony 2023-2025 to recognise businesses and stakeholders that have met the minimum ASEAN standards requirements.

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia were pleased to present four categories of ASEAN Tourism Standard Awards during the ceremony including the 4th ASEAN Homestay Award, the 3rd ASEAN Community Based Tourism (CBT) Award, the 2nd ASEAN Public Toilet Award, and the 2nd ASEAN Spa Services Award, to recognise and honour excellent ASEAN tourism businesses and destinations that comply with the above ASEAN Tourism Standards.
