Best of ASEAN Performing Arts (BoAPA) 2025 programme “ASEAN Cultural Seed: Nurturing Cultural Leaders”
KUALA LUMPUR, 22 OCTOBER 2025 - In conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Artistic Children (MAAC) will be organising the Best of ASEAN Performing Arts (BoAPA) 2025 programme “ASEAN Cultural Seed: Nurturing Cultural Leaders” on 22nd until 29th October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event will be launched by the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture at Auditorium Seri Angkasa, Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur on 25th October 2025.
BoAPA 2025 is regional effort to nurture and empower the next generation of cultural talents across ASEAN. It seeks to foster creativity, deepen appreciation of ASEAN’s diverse heritage and strengthen cultural identity among youth. The programme features a 6-day intensive skill-building workshop in performing arts, highlighting traditional dance, music and contemporary interpretations of ASEAN culture. A total of 22 young artists, aged between 7 and 13 years old, from ASEAN Member States will participate in this vibrant exchange of knowledge and creativity.
The overall objective of BOAPA is to foster children’s talent development and capacity building by promoting the preservation and innovation of traditional practices to protect ASEAN’s cultural heritage for future generations, in line with 2 the values of Malaysia MADANI which emphasise sustainability, inclusivity and shared prosperity within the region.
