Call For Ideas: Volunteer Tourism

Volunteer Tourism (Voluntourism) involves taking a vacation and participating in volunteer activities. The Ministry of Tourism is looking for innovative ideas to develop voluntourism programs and packages.

Since September 2012, five voluntourism program shave been introduced:

1Malaysia Green 1Malaysia Clean (keeping Malaysia Green & Clean);
1Malaysia Volunsharing (sharing tourist experience through social media);
1Malaysia Voluntutoring (providing tuition to homestay operators and villagers);
1Malaysia Master Chef (teaching culinary skills); and
1Malaysia Event.

These programs have attracted more than 10,000 volunteers.
